Question about China Embassy in Japan
-
I am a USA crew member on a cruise ship. Can I get a visa in a day?
Our ship is calling into both Fukuoka and then Nagasaki before mainland China. Is it possible to get an entry permit in a day as a crew member? Or can I send in the forms beforehand and arrive the day I am there and get it put into my passport?
I also saw an article saying you could go without an entry permit for 144 hours if you enter and exit through the Shanghai Cruise Port. We are staying there for 3 days, then go onto Zhujianjian. Would I be able to get off without a visa since I am there less than 144 hours?Asked by Meredith Tyler (USA) | Mar. 07, 2016 11:10Answer Question

- You must refer to Zhujiajian Town in Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province by "Zhujianjian", right? Well, your case is applicable to the 144h visa-free transit policy. Just apply for a stay permit at the customs and you will be allowed to spend several days during your stopover. Have fun!Answered by Lee (Germany) | Mar. 08, 2016 04:15
