Question about China D Visa (Residence Visa)
-
I am married to a Chinese National what type Visa do I need to spend more than 60 days with her.
I want to know if it is possible to get a Visa that will allow me to stay with my Chinese National Wife in China for 6 months or more. We were married just this year in the US. Is this possible or will I have to get multiple 60 day visas and come and go over and over. If that is the case, how long will I have to go home for, before returning.

- You are advised to get the Q1 visa which is valid for 30 days. After entry, you can apply for a Temporary Residence Permit which enables you to stay in China for at least 90 days and 5 years at most.Answered by Nancy (United Kingdom) | Jul. 10, 2018 01:35
- go to the Police Headquarters in the city your wife is registered resident, City headquarters not the neighborhood, there you can obtain a one year visa. Or ask them about a two year visa. You will need a health exam for the two year visa. No time limit on exit entry for either. They will need your Passport/visa, 2 visa type Photos. Some police departments can do your photos there. Take your marriage Certificate. Your wife's China ID and her proof of resident. For the health exam, for 2 year visa, I have had done 3 times, less than an hour every time. But you may have to return in a few days to get your paper work from them, to submit to the Police Headquarters. Then they say 4 working days to prepare, last time it was three weeks for me, but that was during China New Year. ***NOTICE you most have min of 6 months, prior to expiration, remaining on your Passport.Answered by John (USA) | Mar. 11, 2019 20:28
