Question about China Visa
-
Can I change my study or tourist visa to a family visa if I marry while in China?
I will go to China and marry my Chinese partner and hopefully live there. Can I change the visa I go on (study/tourist) to a family visa after I get married to a Chinese citizen? What documents do I need to marry a Chinese citizen? For example, do I need to prove I am single/divorced beforehand? Can I work or study on a family visa (full time or part time)? Do I need to prove I have sufficient funds to live there? Does a family visa need to be renewed or is it permanent? If it needs to be renewed, how long is it valid for each time? Thank you

- To get married in mainland China, you need to provide passport, visa or residence permit, and a single status certificate from your country. You cannot work in there under a family Q visa, and it need to be renewed. You can try to change the L or X type into family visa at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.Answered by Rina | Nov. 14, 2018 23:20
