Can British citizens can obtain a Chinese visa in Spain?

Two couples including yours truly (the four of us are British Subjects and residents of Gibraltar) have booked a Princess Cruise 13-30 March 2010 which will be calling on a number of Chinese ports. We understand that there is a VISA reuirement for us to land ashore in China. My question is whether we as British Citizens can obtain a VISA in Spain? and if so do we have to travel to Madrid or can we apply to a Chinese Consulate in Andalucia? If so which is the nearest Consular service to Gibraltar? Look forward to your kind reply and in anticipation many thanks for your kind attention to this matter. Thank you.

then you should apply for a F visa.
