  Can I apply for a China visa in Japan?

  Hi, this is a little complicated, sorry!
  
  I am a UK citizen living in Ishikawa. My work contract and Alien registration card end in July. Then I will have to change to a tourist visa.
  
  I would like to travel to China and return to Europe via trans-Siberian express at the end of July.
  
  Can I apply for a China visa in Japan after my Alien registration card has expired/on a tourist visa?
