Question about China G Visa (Transit Visa)

  Do I need a transit Visa and can I leave the Shanghai Pudong Airport?

  I hold an Australian Passport. I am going to fly from Sydney to Paris via Shanghai and the transit time in Pudong airport is 15 hours. Do I need a transit Visa and can I leave the airport? On the way back I will be flying from Paris to Sydney via Beijing and the transit time is 5 hours. Do I need a transit visa if I do not leave the airport?

• Austrilian passport holders are exempt from China visa if they stay in Shanghai for transit less than 48 hours.
  so you don't need a Visa, but you can not leave the airport.
  as for in Beijing, you also don't need a visa, but can not leave the airport.
