Items I can take when leaving in China?
I am bringing two gifts into China for a Chinese friend. Individually, neither is worth more the 2000RMB, but together they are worth about 2400RMB. They are a necklace and a ring. Do I have to pay a duty on them, and if so, is the duty just on the portion that exceeds 2000RMB?

- If they are less than 50g (2 ounce), they are duty-free and do not need to be declared. if more, you have to pay tax for them, and they will be taxed on the entire price. The tax rate is 10%.Answered by Kevin | Dec. 02, 2011 17:28
