Can I get a replacement HK permanent ID in Vancouver BC ?
I was born in HK and have a HK birth certificate. I lost my HK permanent ID card several years ago. I hear I can get a replacement in Vancouver BC (where I now live). If it is correct, which office do I go to ? What do I bring ? If you have further info on how long it takes, how much it costs, whether fees can be paid in Canadian dollars, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

- Hi Maria,
if you are a HK resident living in Canada, you don't need to apply a HK permanent ID card, but if you want to go back to Hong Kong, you can get a new one within 14 days after you arrive at Hong Kong.
the cost is HKD 335.
for detailed information, you may consult the Hong Kong immigration department.Answered by Judy | Dec. 03, 2011 17:51
