Change from the children HK smart id to adult HK smart id in Vancouver office?
My son already has a children HK smart id, but he is now old enough to change that into an adult HK smart id. Can he change it in the Vancouver office? If yes, what documentation he need to provide?

- yes, it can be processed in the office of Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in Vancouver.
the documents he need to provide along the with application form are:
1. his birth certificate if he was born in Hong Kong
2. Proof of his previous residence in Hong Kong such as school documents, proof of employment, official receipts or bank statements if he has ordinarily resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than 7 years
3. his birth certificate and his parent’s permanent identity card if he claim the right of abode in Hong Kong by virtue of his parent’s status in Hong Kong
4. two recently-taken photoes of the following format:
Size: 29 mm (width) x 35 mm (height)
Showing full face with no hat
Plain background of a light colour
