- You can stop in between and play in the interesting place for several days. but if you are going to travel in MAY 1, it will be a little troublesome, because the ticket is hard to book at that time.
Besides, there are restrictions for travel to tibet.
Chinese Government regulates that non-Chinese citizens, including foreign tourists, Taiwan tourists and overseas Chinese must have a Tibet Travel Permit as well as a valid passport and a visa to visit Tibet. A visa can be obtained from the local Chinese consulate in your country. However, the foreign journalists and diplomats are not allowed to go to Tibet as a tourist.
As neither of you speak Chinese, i think you'd better follow a travel agent, they will make out a perfect intenery for you.
here are some tibet tour information http://www.chinatour360.com/tibet/package/Answered by Jakinda | Nov. 30, 2010 19:18 - Hello, first, individual travel to Lhasa is prohibited, your tour in Lhasa should be organized by a Travel Agency.
Second, if you want to travel to Tibet by soft sleeper train, it is hard to guarantee the availability of the train tickets, for the train tickets are very popular and are always in great demand. According to the train schedule, there is only one train of Shanghai/ Lhasa available, it is T164/T165, which will take you near 49 hours, a quite long and hard journey. While for the stops, since the maximum time the train will stop over in each stop is less than 20 minutes, you can buy some food if you need. You may consider to take the flight to Lhasa to save the time.Answered by Fiona (Australia) | Dec. 01, 2010 03:37
