Question about China Customs Declarations

What happens when I declare more than $5,000 in cash in China?
Does anyone know what will happen if I declare over $5,000 in cash in China? I am getting married in China and need to bring over $10,000 in cash to pay for the wedding. Will I be taxed or have to pay a fee once I declare the amount of money I am bringing into China? Or will I keep ALL my money that I declared? Please help!!! Thanks.
